Pioneering Sustainable Fashion Trends

Fashion Accessory Sustainable fashion is part of a growing trend towards sustainability. The goal of sustainable fashion goes beyond profit maximization. Sustainable fashion brands consider the human impact on the environment and social responsibility. According to Earth Edge, at least 8000 chemicals are used to turn raw materials into textiles and 25% of pesticides are used to grow cotton. The average American throws away 65 lbs of clothes every year. Without making changes to our purchasing and production habits, we will leave behind irreparable damage for future generations. I decided to consider the importance of sustainable production when selecting the first startup I was going to highlight in this series. Richard and Emelie Haines are the founders of SideRoot, a startup focused on bringing ethical business practices to an area of fashion that has been largely ignored by sustainable fashion trends.  Richard and Emelie are social entrepreneurs based out of Örnskölds

Make Money Blogging: Everything Beginners Need to Know to Launch a Successful Blog

Image
Make Money Blogging When a person plans to start blogging on a regular basis, they can easily become overwhelmed with all of the decisions that need to be made in such a short amount of time. Aside from creating high quality articles that are sought out and well received by its intended audience, bloggers also have to think up domain names, web hosts, themes, plugins -- and that's just barely scratching the surface. The very last thing on most bloggers' minds is making money. As a matter of fact, according to a 2012 survey of 1,000 bloggers performed by Blogging.com, 81% never even make $100 from their blogging. Just so you know, if you're in it for a quick way to make cash, you're definitely in the wrong field. But just because the vast majority don't turn a large profit doesn't mean that it's physically impossible to make money blogging, either. According to that same survey, 17% are able to sustain their lifestyle and/or support their f

Politicians struggling to cut through on social media, experts say

Image
Social Media While there can be no doubt politicians are becoming more visible on sites like Facebook, Twitter and instagram, social media trend experts have questioned their effectiveness. University of Western Australia associate professor of marketing Paul Harrigan said politicians needed to adapt the way they communicate on social media platforms if they want young people to listen. "I would say that they're treating these two-way channels like traditional one-way channels," he said. "They need to be going out there and try to engage with people and listen to what people are saying — their thoughts, their views, their policies — and then adapting their strategy around that. "But I'm not seeing that happening." Mr Harrigan said often what most parties were doing was taking the same message, sometimes the same advertisement, and simply placing it on Facebook and Twitter.  "It can't be as planned as that," he said. &q

Below, what Swift has said about that four-letter word, from what it's like to fall in love to how she makes relationships work. • "There are no rules when it comes to love. I just try to let love surprise me because you never know who you're going to fall in love with. Should You Start a Blog?

Hello Fam,  I have been asked many times by many people whether or not to start a blog for financial gain, and so here’s the truth. If you are asking me this question, my answer is going to be an unequivocal NO. No, you should not even contemplate starting a blog if you are on the fence and need to ask someone if it is worth it. If your plan is solely to make money, and not enjoy the act of writing. I clearly think that it is worth it, but here are some things I also know. I make quite a bit of money off of my blog. I do this through advertising, affiliates and sponsored posts, but none of it is easy and it did not start right away. I made my first 100 bucks about 4 months into blogging, and then nothing came in for the next 4 months. It has taken time, hard work and determination to get me to the point where blogging is financially worth it and none of it happened overnight. Financially successful bloggers know what I mean when I say blogging is a way of life. You are ALWAY
